Nature Center

The Black Rock Retreat Nature Center is home to over a dozen live animals, as well as a number of preserved specimens. This hands-on program offers a chance to meet them up close!

Learn about several of our Nature Center’s residents and how God has designed them with unique features to survive in a particular habitat. This program is an auditorium-style presentation that allows participants to touch the animals.

What's the "Pet Policy" for handling animals?

This program is an auditorium-style presentation that allows participants to touch the animals.

There are over a dozen live animals at the Black Rock Retreat Nature Center. A chance to meet them up close and personal will be offered by this program. It is important to be calm and respect the natural beauty of the animal that you’re getting to know. After all you’re in their living space. To keep them from being stressed, please use inside voices while in the nature center, and walking during your visit would go a long way to make sure these critters stay healthy.

Where is the Nature Center Located?

The Nature Center at Black Rock Retreat is located at 1345 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA, 17566 on PA State Route 472, approx. 4.5 miles south of the town of Quarryville, PA and approx. 8.5 miles north of the town of Oxford, PA.

We have a private entrance off Route 472 that is marked with a fairly large sign, which is lighted up in the evening.
