Make Someone Smile

Planned Giving Opportunities
Would you like to leave a legacy for future generations of campers to hear of the love of Christ?

At Black Rock Retreat, your giving is vital to the success of our mission. In addition to direct giving, you can support us through planned giving.

Here’s how you can include Black Rock Retreat in your planned giving:

Make a provision through your will or trust:

You can designate Black Rock Retreat as the beneficiary of assets by will, trust or other instrument. Talk to your financial advisor or attorney to discover what works best for you.

Name Black Rock Retreat as a beneficiary:

You can designate Black Rock Retreat as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan, life insurance policy, or annuity. Through these types of planned giving options you can provide future support for Black Rock Retreat, while also giving you and your loved ones financial flexibility, potential tax benefits and even income for life.

Honor of a deceased loved one:

Invite friends and family to send a contribution to Black Rock Retreat in leu of flowers. A gift of this kind is a meaningful way to honor your loved one and, at the same time, help others.

Make a tax-free gift with an IRA charitable rollover:

You can make a tax-free gift from your traditional IRA (other qualified retirement plans such as 401(k)s and 403(b)s are not eligible). You must be at least 70 ½ years old to take advantage of this opportunity. You must transfer your gift directly from your IRA administrator to Black Rock Retreat. The total of all of your rollover gifts in any one year cannot exceed $100,000 per person. A spouse with a separate IRA could also make a rollover gift of up to $100,000 if they otherwise qualify.

The benefits of an IRA charitable rollover gift include:

  • Satisfies the required minimum distribution but is not included in taxable income
  • Avoids income tax on IRA withdrawals
  • Supports the ministries of Black Rock Retreat with a tax-free gift

Join the New Legacy Society

Our newly forming Legacy Society embodies a group of special friends who have included Black Rock Retreat in their planned giving.

As a member of the Legacy Society you will receive special benefits, including recognition (if desired) in Black Rock Retreat publications, invitations to special events, and personal communications from the Executive Director.

If you have you already included Black Rock Retreat in your will or aspect of your estate plan, thank you and please let us know.

Planned giving is one of the most tax efficient ways to contribute to the future ministry of Black Rock Retreat. Legacy gifts provide lasting impact on future generations.
