Make Someone Smile
Life Gift Opportunities
Would you like to provide a legacy for future generations of campers to hear of the love of Christ?
At Black Rock Retreat, your giving is vital to the success of our mission. In addition to cash gifts, you can support us through giving a life gift.
Here are some options for how you can give a life gift:
Give through your will or trust to ministry priorities that has been important in your life:
You can designate Black Rock Retreat as the beneficiary of assets by will, trust or other instrument. Contact our office to learn more.
You can designate Black Rock Retreat as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan, life insurance policy, or annuity. Through these types of planned giving options you can provide future support for Black Rock Retreat, while also giving you and your loved ones financial flexibility, potential tax benefits and even income for life.
Honor a loved one:
Invite friends and family to send a contribution to Black Rock Retreat in lieu of flowers. A gift of this kind is a meaningful way to honor your loved one and, at the same time, help others.
Make a tax-free gift with an IRA charitable rollover:
You can make a tax-free gift from your traditional IRA (other qualified retirement plans such as 401(k)s and 403(b)s are not eligible). You must be at least 70 ½ years old to take advantage of this opportunity. You must transfer your gift directly from your IRA administrator to Black Rock Retreat. The total of all of your rollover gifts in any one year cannot exceed $100,000 per person. A spouse with a separate IRA could also make a rollover gift of up to $100,000 if they otherwise qualify.
The benefits of an IRA charitable rollover gift include:
- Satisfies the required minimum distribution but is not included in taxable income
- Avoids income tax on IRA withdrawals
- Supports the ministries of Black Rock Retreat with a tax-free gift
