A Local Bike Ride for a Local Ministry
Black Rock Retreat is currently planning the 2020 BR2RB Event. As we navigate the impact of COVID-19, we will continue to pay close attention to the CDC and local government regulations in order to provide the safest event for all riders and volunteers. We will also be making every effort to offer the quality experience that our riders have come to expect each year.
That being said, this year the BR2RB is going to look a little different.
If you’ve ridden with us in the past here are the 4 main changes you should know about:
1. It’s happening!
We are so excited to be able to hold the bike-a-thon in 2020!
2. Choose from 3 options:
- 85-mile Ultimate Ride on September 12th
- 45-mile Challenge Ride on September 12th
- Choose your distance NEW Family-friendly Ride on September 12th and 13th (pick a day)
Check back soon for this year’s routes.
3. It’s cheaper!
Because of unforeseen challenges, we will be riding locally instead of going to the beach this year. We’re saving a lot of money on transportation and event logistics and are passing those savings on to you. Registration for the longest ride option is only $125. (Hopefully we’ll ride to the beach again next year!)
4. T-shirts are included with your registration!
To keep costs low, we’re providing t-shirts (instead of jerseys) with every registration (register online here!). If you’d like to purchase a jersey, they are available at an additional cost when you register.
(t-shirt color may vary slightly.)
If you want to partner with us in a big way consider becoming a business sponsor!
When you support BR2RB, you become a hero to kids.
“I couldn’t have asked more. We truly are blessed to be able to send our child to such an amazing camp. The counselors were awesome. Our son felt very close to them as they had a lot in common. I couldn’t thank them enough! When you go pick up your child and his face has a smile ear-to-ear and he says, ‘This year was even better than last!’ you know as a parent, God is present.”

Frequently Asked Questions
- When should I register?
You should complete your registration before August 21st, 2020 to receive a complementary T-shirt.
Registrations can still be completed after that date, however, the T-shirt will not be available.
- What deposit is required to reserve a spot?
Ultimate and Challenge riders are required to pay a $25 deposit, and commit to donating or fundraising to cover at least the rest of their registration fee.
Family-friendly trail riders are not required to pay a deposit this year.
- What is the bikeathon reservation process?
You can complete the online registration or contact us by email or phone at (717) 529-3232. Once you’ve paid the $25 non-refundable registration fee, we’ll order a t-shirt for you, add your name to the meal count. In addition to the $25 registration fee, all riders are required to donate or raise additional funds to up to or exceeding their total registration cost. Any monies raised over and above the costs of this event will support the ministries of Black Rock Retreat including our Summer Camp for children.
- Can I ride with a group?
Riders are encouraged to invite friends to join them in this ride. Even if all riders are not riding the same distance, all riders of any distance will end at Black Rock Retreat, so you can all celebrate your accomplishments together. If you are not able to bring a friend, be encouraged that BR2RB bikeathon riders are a friendly bunch, and welcome other riders to join their group for encouragement and support. The key to making this a win-win for everyone is to find a group that rides at your same pace.
- Do you provide overnight accomodations?
Our retreat center is conveniently located near Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Only 30 min from Interstate 95, we're both secluded and easily accessible.
