Homeschool Outdoor Education Days

Homeschool Outdoor Education Days are an exciting opportunity for students 6 to 17 to explore God’s creation through hands-on, experiential learning in the outdoors.
Each day typically includes:

  • Two Creation Exploration sessions
  • Morning devotion
  • Take-home manual for each student
  • Lots of fun learning about God in the outdoors!

Each day runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm

Spring Outdoor Education Days

Theme Days

Our theme days for Fall are: Above our Heads and Creepy Crawly. Each day will include:

• 2 Creation Exploration sessions
• Morning devotion
• A take-home manual for each student
• Fun times learning about God in the outdoors!

Children will be divided into groups based on age. Each age group will study different subjects.
Each day is designed for parents to learn alongside their children. While we do not require parents to attend, we like to have at least one adult chaperone with every class group of 10-15 students to support our instructors as needed. Please, no younger siblings under age 6 during the program.

Outdoor Skills Day – April 22nd or 23rd

Get outdoors  and practice some fun and informative skills!
Ages 6 – 8: Outdoor Shelters & Animal Tracking
Ages 9 – 11: Edible Plants & Geocaching
Ages 12 & up: Fire Building & Canoeing (Canoeing will be done at Black Rock Retreat’s lake)

Flora & Ecology Day – April 29th or 30th

Spring into this day all about plants and their important role within God’s creation.
Ages 6 – 8: Plant Basics & Relationships in Nature
Ages 9 – 11: Vegetation Investigation & Ecology
Ages 12 & up: Vegetation Investigation & Forest Ecology

Field Day

Join us May 20th for a day full of fun and friendly competition.  The day will be a mix of traditional field day activities like dashes, long jumps, etc. and non-traditional events like the ever popular shoe kick.  Students will be divided into groups of similar age.


Each day is $22 per student. $10/day non-refundable deposit due at time of registration.

Lunch Information

Lunch for Homeschool Days will be held in either our Pavilion or indoors depending on the weather. Boxed lunches will be available to purchase* for those families not wishing to pack a lunch. For those families wishing to pack a lunch a cooler will be available at check-in to drop your student’s lunch off. Please label your student’s lunch clearly.

*Boxed lunches are $6 each and must be ordered 2 weeks in advance.

Parent Information

The day is designed for parents to learn alongside their children. While we do not require parents to attend, by attending as a chaperone you help us to keep costs low and continue offering great home school programs. This Spring we are offering a limited number of spots for parents to attend as chaperones at no program cost. No program cost parent spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
