BR wants to see every camper come to Christ, especially those who aren’t campers yet! We want there to be no financial barriers for anyone to come to camp. We want to see Heaven packed and we have three ways that we help out in doing that. For any questions, feel free to contact our registrar.
1. Tiered Pricing
To meet the goals of developing and expanding the ministry of Black Rock, while also keeping summer camp affordable for as many people as possible, we are introducing a three-tiered system that allows families to choose the price that best fits their financial situation.
In the past, we have charged flat rates for camp that were subsidized and did not reflect the full cost of our programs. This system still provides the standard low cost option, while also presenting the actual costs of camp for those who can afford it. The price you choose remains confidential, only known by those who handle registration and payments. All campers receive the same experience regardless of what tier they pay.
Tier 3: True Cost
In addition to the expenses of running camp, this rate reflects the costs of maintaining facilities, grounds, and equipment as well as expanding camp to provide new activities and experiences. By choosing this option when registering, you are joining in developing the ministry of Black Rock for future generations.
Tier 2: Subsidized Cost
This rate is closer to covering the expenses of summer camp at cost, but results in less revenue than is needed to further develop our camp and programs. Additionally, as inflation continues to raise the costs for many aspects of camp (food, utilities, etc.), choosing this option when registering helps donations to summer camp go further in other needed areas.
Tier 1: Partially-Sponsored Cost
Black Rock does not want finances to be a barrier for youth to come and experience all that camp has to offer. Rather than raising all prices significantly, we will keep this rate as low as possible even though it does not fully account for the cost of our camps and programs. We can offer this option thanks to donors who share our vision to keep camp affordable and accessible to as many families as possible.
Simply register online and choose which tier upon payment. Individual tiered pricing amounts are available at individual summer camp programs’ (Overnight, Day Camp, SURGE, etc.) webpages. You may also select from the options below:
2. Refer-A-Friend Discount
As God blesses Black Rock with more and more capacity to host campers, we want to see these spots filled! We’re introducing our Refer-A-Friend discount! If you, a previous camper, bring a first-time-camper friend to camp, both you and your buddy get half off for summer camp! This applies to all summer camp programs, and there is no limit for friends to bring!
Please note that “half off” refers to a 50% reduction from Tier 3 of the chosen program. This final amount is usually around or less than the Tier 1 of said program. Also note that the discount happens individually. The discount is still available even if the 2 (or more) campers choose different programs.
What are the steps? Great question!
- Find a friend who hasn’t come to camp before! Who wants or needs to come to camp? Who needs to hear the Gospel? You know the Gospel, do they?
- Both you and your friend(s) register online and pause right before payment. Register here.
- Contact our registrar or call 717-529-3370. Let them know you are looking to avail of the “Refer-A-Friend” discount, and do please give both (or more) names.
- Once our registrar has replied to both with a confirmation email, both may proceed with payment.
- Complete the registration process as normal, and we’ll see you (and your buddy) in the summer!
3. Camp Scholarship
Also, we offer full camp scholarships! We desire that there be no barrier to coming to camp, and we know how major of a part finances play in day-to-day life, and even in decisions like whether or not to come to camp.
We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors that ensure that offering camp scholarships is possible at Black Rock! You are truly investing in the eternities inside each and every camper that comes unto property!
