Fun and Service for the Summer

If you are 14-17 years old and are looking for a fun, service-opportunity centered around spiritual growth, apply for a 2-week session in our SURGE program! (Formerly Discipleship & Service Crew). Click here for the main SURGE page if you’re in a different age group.

Participants in our SURGE program will help make summer camp possible through service oriented duties and team building, all while under the supervision and mentoring of our SURGE Leaders!

How to Apply

SURGE campers are selected from applicants after completing our online application and a short interview. This program runs concurrently with our Overnight Summer Camp and space is limited, so don’t delay!

  • Log into your registration account (or create one) and select the “SURGE” session(s).
  • Complete all required forms and update your camper’s information. The application form should be filled out by the camper.
  • After forms are submitted, the enrollment will show as waitlisted. Staff will contact you to schedule a 5–10 minute phone interview with the camper.
  • After the interview, staff will follow up with next steps. If accepted, the registration fee will be charged to the account to finalize enrollment. The minimum deposit is non-refundable.

Deposits

Each session, SURGE will host 8 girls and 8 boys. All weeks require a non-refundable deposit in order to hold your spot upon acceptance into the program. The deposit is $150 for all weeks. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the start of your week of camp. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in cancellation.

Cancellation

The deposit is non-refundable and will be considered a donation to Black Rock Retreat, and any remaining balance in both registration and snack shop will be refunded. Cancellations made within three (3) days of the camp start date are non-refundable, and the full camp fee will be forfeited.
