Ready to push yourself while making a difference? Run the Rock is more than just another 5K, it’s an opportunity to experience the beauty and challenge of Black Rock’s trails while helping make camp possible for children and families.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best in our timed trail race or enjoying the course at your own pace with the hiking option, every step supports Black Rock’s ministry and programs. With wooded trails, scenic overlooks, and rolling elevation changes, our 5K+ course (6.07 km) offers a rewarding challenge for seasoned runners and first-time trail participants alike.
Come challenge yourself, enjoy a morning outdoors, and help create life-changing experiences for the thousands of campers and guests who come to Black Rock each year.
Registration Information
Challenge yourself on our 6.07 km trail course beginning at 8:00 a.m. This professionally timed race features moderate trail terrain with hills and elevation changes throughout the course. Check out the elevation map here!
- Registration is required prior to race day. Day-of registration is not available for the timed race.
- Online registration closes at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, October 2.
- Each participant receives a race goodie bag, event T-shirt (guaranteed if registered by September 16), sponsor vouchers, and more.
- All participants are entered to win a FREE week of summer camp at Black Rock.
- Awards will be presented to the overall men’s and women’s winners, as well as top finishers in each age division.
- Fees: $35/runner ($30 early bird price through August 31st)
Prefer to enjoy the trails at a more relaxed pace? Our untimed hiking option is perfect for individuals, families, and anyone looking to experience Black Rock’s beautiful property without racing the clock.
- Hikers will follow the same 6.07 km course at their own pace.
- Online registration closes at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, October 2. Day-of registration is available for hikers.
- Each participant receives a goodie bag, event T-shirt (guaranteed if registered by September 16), sponsor vouchers, and more.
- All participants are entered to win a FREE week of summer camp at Black Rock.
- Fees: $25/hiker ($20 early bird price through August 31st)
*Children ages 6 and under participate free of charge! Simply contact us in advance to let us know who will be joining your group. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult (18+) for the entirety of the event.
