  • 2008-2009 WINTER RETREAT SEASON REGISTRATION FEE: $90 (Same fee for both retreats)

  • GROUP RATES: Any group of 8 or more participants will receive 1/3 off the registration fee per person!

At Black Rock Retreat, we're ready to dive into winter by offering 2 Winter Youth Retreats for you to choose from!  First, our annual Jr. High Winter Retreat will be held on December 28-30, 2008 for anyone in 6th-8th grade.  This event conveniently falls between Christmas and New Year’s, providing an exciting opportunity for some fun during Christmas break!

We are pleased to announce that our speaker for the Jr. High winter retreat will be Cliff Eberly!  Cliff  has worked with young people in a variety of settings around the world for the last eight years (including at Black Rock!).  He is a gifted and effective communicator who presents sound Biblical truth in a clear and relevant manner with a focus on calling young people to reflect and respond.  Cliff and his wife have travelled extensively over the last nine months combining skills in community development with a desire to encourage young people to deepen their spirituality.

We are also proud to introduce the SECOND ANNUAL Sr. High Winter Retreat from February 13-15, 2009 for anyone in 9th-12th grade!  This weekend promises the same high energy experience of Teen Week during summer camp, with a wintertime twist!  You won’t want to miss out on this exciting new opportunity!

YOUTH GROUPS are also invited to join us for this exhilarating winter weekend!  We’ll provide the games, activities, program, speaker, music, worship, food, lodging, entertainment, and staff!  All you have to do is come and enjoy!  Maybe some of your students have already been to Black Rock as a summer camper or with your group for a retreat.  Here’s a chance to do something new and add some great memories to your Black Rock experience!  Our motto at Black Rock is, “To Know Christ and Make Him Known!”  It is our desire that every aspect of these retreats will do just that!  If you can’t put together a group, but know of individuals in a youth group who would like to come…send them anyway!  We’ll have plenty of our own staff to serve as “counselors” and spend the retreat with them.  Their goal is to be there to serve our campers in any way they can!

All youth leaders are welcome!  This is a great opportunity to come and just spend some quality time with the students you minister to while we take care of all the work!  Maybe there’s someone in your youth group that you’ve really wanted to sit down and talk to, but just haven’t been able to find the uninterrupted time to do it.  Perhaps you’re so busy with the planning and administration required for implementing your own events that you don’t really get to enjoy them yourself and spend much quality time with your students.  This could be a wonderful chance to deepen some relationships and have a blast doing it...without the stress of leading a retreat!

There will be 2 Youth Leader’s Meetings during the retreat.  First, on Friday night we will have an introduction to Black Rock Winter Retreats where we will introduce key staff, briefly discuss the schedule and flow of the weekend, and allow you to ask questions. We will also collect names of students you would like us to pray for throughout the weekend.  Second, on Sunday morning we will give you an opportunity to share testimonies of how God worked in the lives of your youth over the weekend.  We hope you will join us for these important meetings that can help enable us to serve you better. The time and location of the meetings will be communicated at Registration.

  • Each participant, whether camper or adult youth leader, MUST complete an Individual Participant Registration Form or a Group Participant Registration Form for themselves.
  • Every retreat participant must also complete a Health Screening Form that should be brought to the retreat.
  • Due to limited space, reservations will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis for both individual registrants and groups.  If space is full you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.
  • Upon receiving a registration form with payment, a confirmation letter will be sent to you if you are an individual registrant.  Group registration confirmation will be sent to the group leader.
  • The Retreat Flyer may be posted anywhere for informational purposes to let everyone know about this exciting opportunity.
  • Please feel free to make as many copies of each of these documents as you want and distribute them as needed.
  • If your group is interested in coming, please fill out and mail back to us a Group Indication Form.  Sending us this form does not mean you are making a firm commitment to come, but it will greatly help us handle lodging reservations and planning.  Indication forms must be returned to us by November 21, 2008 for the Jr. High Retreat, and January 9, 2009 for the Sr. High Retreat.
  • Group leaders should submit a Group Roster, individual registrations, and full payment for your entire group by December 2, 2008 for the Jr. High Winter retreat, and February 1, 2009 for the Sr. High Winter retreat.
  • Cabinmate Request: Individual registrants may request to room with up to 2 friends.  We do our best to honor these requests, however, Black Rock reserves the right to split up cabinmate requests without prior notification if needed and cannot guarantee they will be granted.  Cabinmates MUST request each other, be independently registered, and close in age.
  • Individual Registrant Discount: Bring a friend and you will BOTH receive $15 off the registration fee, which then becomes $75/person!  Friends must fill out separate registration forms and request each other.  This discount is applicable for one friend only.
  • Group rates are available for a group of 8 or more participants, excluding adult leaders.  Any group of 8 or more campers will receive 1/3 off the registration fee per person!  Additionally, any group of 16 or more campers will receive one complimentary registration for an adult leader.  The group discount also guarantees that your group will be housed together, though there may be other campers in a cabin with you that are not a part of your group.  Groups with less than 8 participants may still attend, but will not be guaranteed that they will all have lodging together and are not eligible for the group discount.
  • Please note that discounts may not be offered in future years.
  • Discounts do not apply to adults participating in the retreat as group leader.

We truly hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you through these exciting events.  Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions…and don’t forget to pray for snow!
